WHANGAREI RED CROSS
A YEAR OF PROGRESS (0.C.) WHANGAREI, Thursday All-round progress was recorded in the report presented at the third annual meeting of the Whangarei subcentre of the Red Cross Society. During the year the membership had doubled and finances were in a sound condition. It was also stated that Voluntary Aids had been of great assistance in staffing the military emergency hospital and that 44 candidates sat at the recent voluntary aid examinations and all passed. One obtained 100 per cent in every section, and 30 obtained over 75 per cent. The following officers were elected:— Patrons, Mr. and Mrs. W. Jones; president, Mrs. C. Ford; vice-presidents, Mrs. R. Ferner and Miss E. Cook; secretary, Mrs. A. M. Long; assistant secretary, Miss L. B rough ton Carr; treasurer, Miss J. McKenzie; committee, Mrs. R. C. Napier, Mrs. H. Horner Egginton, Mrs. G-. Seed Mm. JICollins. Mrs. E. Bell. Mrs. A. M. Woods, Mrs. A. Clarke and. Miss Fleming; representative on the medical E.P.S., lira. Ford; delegates to centre, Mrs. A. M. Woods, Mias Cook and Mr. R. C- Napier;. delegate to patriotic committee, Mrs. Napier; auditor, Mr. R. Roseman.
