DEATH FOR SABOTAGE
PENALTY IN SOUTH AFRICA CAPETOWN, Feb. 2 A regulation imposing the death penalty for sabotage has been gazetted m South Africa.'An assurance that the authorities are on the track of those responsible for the latest acts of sabotage in the Transvaal and the Orange free State was given by the Union Minister of Justice, Mr. Colm fetevn. The outrages committed during last Week-end, when damage was done to the promises of a native-owned newspaper and a cafe, brought the total of explosions since the outbreak of war to 16 in Johannesburg and 51 elsewhere in the Onion. Under a carefully prepared J'mi, presumably carried out by a larg® body 0 f saboteurs, telegraph and telephone lines from Bloemiontein and Eirnberley were'cut in places upwards 100 miles apart. Services were reared after a few hours.
