FRENCH POSSESSIONS AMERICAN POLITICIANS (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON. April 14 Speaking in the House of Representatives to-day Mr. W. R. Poage (Democrat—Texas) described Laval as an enemy of all free people. He said: "Today a traitor received his 30 pieces of silver." Mr. Poage urged closer cooperation between the United States and the Free French and the occupation of strategic French possessions. Mr. E. Gossctt (Democrat —Texas) predicted the complete and inglorious end of tho French Republic if the French Fleet went to Germany. Mr. C. I. Faddis (Democrat —Pennsylvania) said no policy of appeasement could be successful. He demanded that the United States, by force if necessary, seize all French possessions necessary for the successful prosecution of the war.
