MATRICULATION TEST The desirability of making the university entrance course a four-year one should be impressed upon teachers, stated Mr. H. MeChesney, senior inspector of schools, at a meeting of the Auckland Education Board yesterday. Although pupils could not be compelled to devote four years to the attainment of matriculation standard, as against three years, said Mr. MeChesney, teachers could use their influence in this matter. The Education Department had published information to the effect that the University Senate had approved of accrediting for university entrance by registered secondary schools.
