MOTORIST INJURED When travelling on the Great South Road near Wiri at an early hour yesterday morning the motor-ear driven by Mr. Warren Hawes Deed, a motor mechanic, aged 29, single, of Settlement Road, Papakura, left the road and ran into a ditch, which at that point is over 20ft. wide. The car landed on its wheels and continued along the bottom of the ditch until it collided with a telegraph pole, causing considerable damage to the vehicle. Mr. Deed, who was the only occupant, was thrown violently against the windscreen, receiving head injuries which necessitated his admission to the Auckland Hospital. His condition last flight flroo not serious.
