ARMY LIFE
g{ rj "Volunteer" is to be congratulated'on his fair and timely articles on life in the Army. It does seem ridiculous that the very ones who are fighting for democracy and freedom are denied even the simplest of democratic rights. His suggestion of a camp committee representing the rank and file is certainly unorthodox to the Army but not so to oui present-day national life, and is one which would solve many problems of our Army life. Our present Government would surely endorse such an advantageous move. In this respect our chaplains and Y M.C.A. secretaries could fill the breach by instituting camp committees under their auspices, and as they have officers" status they could make representations on, behalf of the committee to the C.0., M.O. or adjutant. I am sure all the rank and file heartily thank "Volunteer" for taking up the, cudgels for the men who are in the fighting forces. Sot.dieb.
