MISSIONS TO SEAMEN
"Never has there been a time when merchant seamen have more nobly won the gratitude and esteem of those who know anything of the work they are doing for the Empire," states the chaplain to the Flving Angel Mission to Seamen in Auckland, the Rev. H. K. Vickery, in his annual report on the mission's activities. "The. mission flag, with its expression of our welcome and proffered hospitality, has flown full mast high. Business firms and other regular subscribers in many cases increased their donations, while others gave freely of their time and talent." During the absence of the chaplain on active service, the Rev. R. B. Davison, Messrs. W. H. Mitchell and 11. Caulton and Mrs. Vickery had kept the flag flying.
