LADY GALWAY GUILD

HER EXCELLENCY'S TRIBUTE A visit to the Lady GaJway Guild headquarters in Court House Lane was paid by Her Excellency, Lady Newall, yesterday morning. Deep interest in the work of packing and sorting was.taken by Her Excellency, who was received by the Mayoress, Mrs. J. A. C. Allum. Lady, Newall expressed the great pleasure it had given her to see the splendid work done by the jjuild and read a letter from Lady Reading, head of the Women's Voluntary Services in London, stressing the great need for clothes by the people in the bombed areas in England. Special mention was made of woollen topcoats for men and all types of underwear for women, children and babies. The garments on view included a large quantity of clothes for adults and children, as ' well as a number of Plunket Aid infants' sets for emergency depots. All the garments were of excellent quality and well made and Her Excellency paid a tribute to the women of the guild who had made them. Following the inspection, members of the executive committee and the helpers in the rooms were presented to Her Excellency, who was accompanied by Miss N Walton.
