(Rm1.0.0p.m.) NEW YORK,' April t4 The Maritime Commission announces that at Richmond, California, a shipyard which was a barren mud-fiat last year halved the record for building a Liberty ship, when the 10,000-ton steamship Zachary Taylor was commissioned only 44 days after being launched. An Ottawa message says West Coast union representatives and employers have accepted the proposals of the Labour Ministers for continuous operation on seven days weekly in ship? yards. The change will operate immediately.
