NO NOMINATIONS
SCHOOL COMMITTEE POSTS As a -esult of no nominations having been received by last Wednesday for positions on the Mount Eden School Committee, there will be no election in the district to-night, when school committees are to be chosen for all city and suburban primary schools. None of the members of the existing committee had signified their intention of seeking reelection, and although householders had been informed no new names were sent forward. The secretary of the Auckland Education Board stated yesterday that it is in the board's power to convene another meeting of householders in the near future. If, on this occasion, a minimum of five names are received, the five people are at liberty to recommend to the board the names of additional householders to complete the committee. Failing the election of a committee at the second attempt, however, it was explained that one or two school commissioners would be elected for a term to do the work of the committee.
