BANKING OF COUPONS
MOVE TO SAVE COUNTING LONDON, Jan. 30 A scheme to obviate the counting and recounting of clothing coupons by traders, wholesalers and manufacturers, now being considered by the Board of Trade and a committee of the leading banks, is ex'pected to be in operation shortly. _ . , Under the scheme traders will hand their coupons to their banks and separate coupon accounts will be operated for cverv trader. Coupon remittances will be made by the banks to suppliers bv means of certified transfer orders. "Lord Wardington, chairman of Lloyds Bank, who outlines the scheme in a statement to shareholders, says the currency will be coupons and not £.s.d. He adds, "No overdrafts on the coupons will be permitted."
