VALUATION ASSESSOR
CITY ELECTION HELD Seven Auckland City ratepayers yesterday exercised their right to attend a statutory meeting held at the Town Hall under the provisions of the Valuation of Land Act, 1925, in order to elect a nominee for appointment by the City Council as its assessor in the Assessment Court for the next three years. The town clerk, Mr. J. Melling, presided and after a ballot Mr. F. A. .Tarrett, the present assessor, was declared elected. There was one other nominee, Mr. H. E. Finlay. The result will bo reported to the council, which will make the appointment. A similar election was called for three years ago, when 45 ratepayers voted.
