MARRIED RESERVISTS
LARGE NUMBER OF APPEALS MEN WITH CHILDREN CLASS In the first ballot of married men with children, published last month, 3093 reservists in the Auckland military area were called for service, and of that number nearly half are affected by appeals lodged with the Auckland Area Manpower Committee. The appeals total 1424, a substantial number of which are from employers engaged on defence work. The hearing of the appeals will start early next week and will be expedited so that they will be disposed of if possible before the men are required for camp. It has been a practice with the committee as far as possible to deal with all the appeals from one ballot before another is issued. With this in view the committee will sit constantly throughout this month in an endeavour to hear all appeals from the 14th ballot a3 soon as possible.
