Pergola Plants
T>AMBLER roses are always a first choice when a selection of plants is to be made for a pergola, but it should not be the last. There are other attractive climbing plants which are suitable. One of the most striking of these is '.he hardy vine named Vit-is coignetiae. Jt is of vigorous growth and bears large leaves which are of a pleasant green in summer and very handsome when they change colour in autumn, becoming a deep rose crimson shade. Another hardy vine suitable for a pergola is the claret leaved variety of the grape vine. In autumn the leaves become a deep wine shade. This vine bears small bunches of grapes.
