MOBILE CINEMA FOR ARMY The contribution made by the cinema industry to the morale of the fighting forces and the civilian population in war time was referred to by Mr. J. H. Mason, president of the New Zealand Motion Picture Exhibitors' Association, at the annual meeting in Wellington. Members had fully co-operated in the display of propaganda films released by the Government. Difficulties of the past year had in the main been surmounted Bos office receipts would decrease with so many men in the services, but the industry had a responsibility to carry on and profit must be a secondary consideration. Southland; Dominion executive, representing major inter ests (five members), Messrs. W. Burton. A Ben Fuller. R. J. Kerridge. J. TT Mason and E. J. Bighton; representing independent exhibitors (seven members), Messrs. F. Lovell. Warkworth. A. Hayden. Auckland, A. P Campbell. Poniraroa, E. E. Tianish, Wellinsrton, G. B. Davis, C. E. Carleton, Chrstchurch and L. McEwen Stockton. The meeting approved arrangements for raising £2OOO to provide a mobile cinema unit for the use of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas. It was decided to forward £SOO to the Government as an interest-free loan.
