NAVAL COMMISSION
AUCKLAND FOOTBALLER A former well-known Auckland Rugby League footballer, Keith Walker Fletcher, has been promoted to the rank of sub-lieutenant in the Navy, according to advice received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Fletcher, of Palmerston North. Sub-Lieutenant Fletcher, who was trained in H.M.S. Ganges, left New Zealand in January of last year. He was a keen athlete and a member of the Richmond senior League team. He employed in the Railway Department in Auckland before joining the Navy.
