MILITARY WEDDING
CEREMONY IN CAIRO HAMILTON BRIDEGROOM The wedding of a member of the 2nd Now' Zealand Expeditionary Force took place at St. John's Wesleyan Church, Sharia Fouad, Cairo, on November 6, when Sergeant Athol Buckleigh, of Hamilton, was married to Miss Marie Koundouroudjian, daughter of Mrs. I. Koiindouroudjian, of Cairo. lhe C. J. Jamieson, of Hamilton, officiated. The bride, who is an accomplished linguist, speaking five languages, has for a considerable time held a position at British Headquarters at Cairo. She is well known in tennis and musical circles. She was given away by her brother, and wore a period gown with a lovely embroidered heirloom veil belonging to hex" family. Miss Jessie Bankin, of England, was bridesmaid. The bridegroom, who had traversed over 400 miles of desert for the ceremony, was attended by his cousin, Irooper R. O. Gorringe, of Masterton, as best man. The reception, which was held at the home of the bride's mother in Cairo, was attended by many New Zealanders serving overseas.
