ORANGES FOR BABIES
Sir, —Could not the Government and the Plunket Society co-operate to ensure that mothers of young babies secure an adequate supply of oranges? Adults can eat other fruits, but orange juice is essential to the health of bottlefed babies. Admittedly there are substitutes, such as swede and carrot juice, but these present difficulties of extraction for the busy mother. To hear of bury soldiers in camps consuming oranges while our babies go without is, to put it mildl.v. tantalising. Food foe Thought,
