OBITUARY

MR. C. J. BROCKLISS The death has occurred of a wellknown Auckland sportsman, Mr. Charles John Brockliss, of ol Gladstone Road, Parnell, at the age of 08. A liberal supporter of all branches of amateur sport in the city, Mr. Brockliss was one of the founders ot the Newton Rugby League Football Club, playing in the club team from 1908 to 1914. He was a member of the first executive 01 the Auckland Rugby League, an olnce he held from 1915 to 1923, while he has been a vice-president for a number of years. In the 1909 and 1910 season he represented Auckland in the code. In later years he was a keen bowler. ME. T. E. MULLINS The death has occurred of Mr. Thomas Edmund Mullins, of Rautangi Road, Mount Kden. He was born at Thames in 1883 and for more than Jb years was on the staff of the Post Telegraph Department, being stationed at Thames and Wanganui. 'or the last few years he was in the land and estate business in Auckland. He was a representative Thames footballer ami rower and always took a keen interest in Thames affairs for the past year beinjr president of the Auckland branch of the Old Thames Boys' Association, of which lie was one of the earliest members. He is survived by his wife and four daughters. Ihere are tno grandsons. MR. WILLIAM MCLEAIT (0.C.) MORRINSVILLE, Wednesday Tlie death has occurred at Walton of Mr William McLean, aged 70. Mr. McLean went to Walton over 34 years ago and took up a block ol land. Jll August last he was the guest of honour at a social to mark his retirement after representing Walton on County Council for 29 years. Mr. McLean is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter.
