RESERVISTS OPPOSE APPEAL "WORK NOT ESSENTIAL" ["BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Friday Appealed for by the Director of National Service, Edward Richard Collins and Robert Martin Williams, physicists, employed by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, made conscientious, objection before the Armed Forces Appeal Board against being held back from active combatant service. They said their work was not essential and that they wished to 'join the Fleet Air Arm. The cases were held over for further inquiry.
