News has been received by Mr. and Mrs. G. Stenborg, of 59 St." Stephen's Avenue. Parnell, of the promotion of their son, Sergeant-Pilot Gray .Stenborg, to the rank of pilot-officer in the Royal Air Force at the age of 19. Born in Auckland, Pilot-Officer Stenborg, when 18, left King's College to join the air force. He was trained it Whenuapai and Levin and left New Zealand last April to complete his course in Canada. After obtaining his "wings" he proceeded to England where he has been engaged in flying Spitfires. Pilot-Officer Stenborg was a mem'ier of the Kings' College first eleven and was a good rifle shot. A member of the Auckland Rowing Club, he purchased the Z-class yacht Frolic while he was on final leave. His father is a veteran club pilot.
