DREDGE LOSES BUCKETS
DIFFICULT RECOVERY TASK <°C> NAPIER, Sunday Most of the buckets on the Napier Harbour Hoard's dredge Whakarire fell into the harbour where it was dredging one evening recently. It was only with difficulty that the heavy chain oi buckets, weighing nearly 10(1 tons, was recovered. Two links of the chain parted, and the buckets began to fall into the harbour, and most of them had gone overboard beioro the dredgeinaster, Captain T. Stephens, and the crew were able to take steps to save a few of them. Immediate action was taken to recover the dropped buckets, but it was not until three nights later and after long hours of work and the assistance of a diver that most of the material was recovered.
