FANCY DRESS DANCE

VAUXHALL SCHOOL PUPILS Children dressed in pay and original costumes completely filled the parish hall at Devonport last night, the occasion being the annual fancy dress dance arranged by the headmaster of the Vauxhall School, Mr. E. J. Newland, who was assisted by members of the staff and the school committee. A delightful programme included folk dances by the primers and standards, and a Maori stick dance by four girls in costume. Solo dances were performed by Ngaio Murfitt, Jean Harris, Ramona Ball and Frances Newland. During an interval trophies were presented to the winners of the boys' cross-country race and to winners of the girls' races. The supper arrangements were in the charge of lite following committee: —Mrs. F. S. Slovens. Mrs. J. C. MrKenzie, Mrs. \V. J. Murfitt. Mrs. L. C Brookes. . Mrs. H. C. When I croft, Mrs E.
