STOCKS AND SHARES

THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE QUIET CONDITIONS RULE Quiet conditions persisted on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday and price movements showed a rather irregular trend. Insurances maintained their strength, and there was a further forward move in New Zealand Insurance. The dullness of Australian stocks continued, although more inquiry for Broken Hill Pty. checked the decline in these shares. Colonial : Sugars were quoted ex dividend, but no announcement has yet been made, while Wool worths (Sydney) suffered a sharp 1 setback on sale at 16s 4d.
