ONE TREE HILL AREA "Building has taken a fillip in the borough," said the Mayor, Mr. I. J. Goldstine, commenting on the fortnight's building figures at the meeting of the One Tree Hill Borough Council last night. During the period eight building permits valued at £22,049 were issued, the greater part of the value being represented by the additional storage space tor the Auckland farmers' "Freezing Company to be constructed at Southdown. Building permits for the current financial year now total £73,-151 in value, an increase of £15,066, or 27 per cent, over the corresponding period of last year, which was a record. These figures, however, do not include anv Government houses.
