Women Workers' Register. All women in Britain who were horn in 1913 are required to register next Saturday under the registration for employment order. Road Fatalities Lower.—During September 768 persons in Britain died as the result of road accidents. This compares favourably with the total of 910 for the same month last year.
Trafalgar Anniversary. Numerous wreaths were laid on Tuesday at the base of Nelson's column on the occasion of the anniversary of the Battle ol Trafalgar. Among them were tributes from Malta. Rhodesia and Canada.
French Constitution.—A revised draft of the I'Tench constitution was handed over to Marshal Retain by the investigating commission on Tuesday night, states a message from Vichy. The commission has recommended that the term of office of the head of the State shall he from 10 to 12 years, and that Franco thai! remain a republic, and not a dictatorship or monarchy. Film Magnate Sentenced. The United States District Court at Philadelphia has sentenced William Fox, former millionaire and motion picture executive, to one year and one dav's imprisonment and fined him 3000 dollars on a charge of conspiracy to obstruct justice and defraud the Government. Fox's counsel said that an appeal to the Supreme Court would be made. Fox was released on bail of 15,0.00 dollars.
