MORAL LAXITY

FUTURE OF THE RACE The opinion that present moral laxity in the Dominion was not only a breach ot Divine law, but that it also seriously imperilled the future of the race, was expressed at the closing session yesterday of the Assembly of the Baptist Union of New Zealand. The Assembly decided that members of the union council in Wellington should form a deputation to meet the Minister of Health, the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer, to secure the implementing of the findings and recommendations or the McMillan report of 1936 and other necessary legislative action. The executive officers were instructed to co-operate with the New Zealand Headmasters' Association, and it was urged that •'Baptist churches should institute educational programmes to inculcate wise knowledge in the minds o. youth, and that the Education Department should bo asked to give instruction in schools and colleges.
