LEAGUE FOOTBALL

COMMITTEES ENTERTAINED As a wind-up to the season the management committee of the Auckland Rugby League entertained la<-t evening the ladies' committee, representatives of clubs and the press. Mr. G. Grey Campbell, who presided, expressed pleasure at the friendly co-operation of all tho committees, particularly that of tho ladies, which had done splendid work in the interests of injured players. Mr. Campbell made reference to absent friends and players, many of whom were serving overseas. Tho toast of the Xe.w Zealand Rugttv League was proposed by Mr. J. A. Lee, M.l'., president of tiic Auckland League, anil a reply was made liy Mr. J. A. Redwood. In replying to the toast of tho ladies' committee. Mrs. Lee described the fine work performed by this committee during the season. The hospital and other institutions had been visited and tho welfare of player-inmates had been carefully attended to.
