PATRIOTIC BRANCH

SECRETARY FAREWELLED Members of the Epsom branch of the Patriotic Committee, women's activities sub-committee and assisting circles met in the George Court tea rooms yesterday afternoon to farewell their secretary, -Mrs. ,J. Hiddlestone, _ who will leave shortly to live in Duuedin. As the occasion was also Airs. Hiddlestone s birthday, the chairman, Mrs. E. MeNair, presented her with a spray of orchids as a small birthday gift. in presenting her with a travelling bag lroni the members, Mrs. McNair referred to Mrs. Hiddlestone's service to the branch as secretary since its inception and said she had always worked selflcssly for the soldiers since the outbreak of war. Mrs. J. Eliffe, president of the Epsom branch of the League of Mothers, of which .Mrs. Hiddlestone has been a member, also spoke.
