SOLDIER'S DEATH

VERDICT AT THE INQUEST (0.c.) HAMILTON, Monday The inquest into the death of Private James Irvine, aged 46. of the Hopuhopu military camp, who was killed on the Xgarunwahia railway bridge on August 15. was concluded before Mr. W. IT. Freeman, S.M.. coroner, to-day. The coroner returned a verdict that death was caused by injuries received when deceased was struck by a train. He added that there was no evidence to show how lie came to he on the railway track, and there was no evidence of neglect on the part of the Railway Department.
