Garden Paths
Have you ever realised what a difference path edges make to your garden? I am dealing with appearances only, though from a cultural point of view pathway edgings are well worth while. Crooked paths can be made very interesting, but they inevitably result in crooked rows of flowers. The path weed problem is an old one and often takes the finished look from the garden. To keep attacking path weeds with the hoe not only loosens the surface and encourages more growth, but the binding material is trodden to the edges, with the result that water collects in the centre. The older the path, the less likely it is to become weedy, if it, has been well made and frequently used.
