RUN OVER BY DISCS
(0.C.) HASTINGS, Tuesday
To fall beneath a set of discs being drawn by a tractor he was driving on his father's farm at Pakowhai, was the experience of Gordon Thompson, aged 17. He received cuts and abrasions which necessitated medical attention, hut had a remarkable escape from more serious injuries. The accident occurred when the youth was swept off the seat of the tractor by a low-hanging branch, and the double set of discs passed over him. After lying on the ground for some time ho recovered sufficiently to drive the tractor to his home some distance away, arriving dazed and with his clothing badly torn.
