AUCKLAND AMATEUHS ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS SEVERAL KEEN CONTESTS The annual amateur championships conducted by the Auckland Boxing Association were concluded at the Town Hall lasl evening. when a lar^ l ' attendance witnessed the semi-finals and finals. The programme was again a lensfthy u »e. commencing at T.tso p.m. and not concluding: until well after midnight. However, this was an hour earlier than the conclusion of Ihe first night's proceedings. The boxing all round was of a better standard than on tho opening night and no fewer than live special trophies were awarded to losers lor plucky exhibitions. Jenkins lost his feather-weight title lo E. Black, but bad his revenge over the same opponent in the light-weight. The light- and welter titles were held by 1-1. Underwood, now a professional. The welter winner was L. Salmon. W. Withey (Wlienuapui Air Base) annexed the middle-weight, while D. W. liollinson, holder of the cruiser and heavy-weight titles, lost them both.
