INCREASE IN SEPTEMBER FALL OVER NINE MONTHS Customs revenue collected fit Auckland during September amounted to £252,098, an increase of £21,133 compared with the figure for the corresponding month last year. However, the revenue collected for the nine months ended September 30 t0ta11iny£2,113,277 showed a decrease' of £293,171 compared with the similar period in 1910. Sales tax revenue was higher for September, and the nine-monthly period, the respective increases being £2OOB and £16.788. Collections last month were as' follows, the, figures for September, 1940, being shown in parentheses:—Customs, £252,098 (£230.965); excise on beer, £34,8-56 (£25.892); sales tax, £96,998 (£94,990); War Expenses Account, £109,086 (£109.676). For the nine months ended September 30, the totals were: —Customs. £2,113.277 (£2,406.4481; excise on beer, £253.991 (£227,792); sales tax, ££60.789 (£814.001); War Expenses Account, £994.276 (£335.026). War tax under its four separate heads totalled £128,002, against £121,524 in September. 1940. For the nine months the totals were £1,123,599 and £474,261. Collections of sales tax in September. 1941, and 1940 were £96,883 and £97,402 respectively. For the nine months the totals were £816.302 and £916.880. Peer excise this month were £BO4B, against £7973 in September, 1940, and for _ the nine months the totals were £76,652 and £76,191.
