MAORI NURSING SISTER
The first nursing sister of the Maori race chosen to join the nursing division is Sister Jane Nepia, of Nuhaka, near Wairoa. She is a member of an old Nuhaka family. Presentations to Sister Nepia were made by her personal friends and by representatives from all parts of the district. On behalf of old pupils of Hukarere College, Napier, of which she has been matron, Mrs. Hohepa made a poetic speech of farewell and cave Sister ISepia a presentation, while Mrs. Ora Te Ngaio did the same on behalf of the Nuhaka Maori Relief Societv.
