WAIHI MAYORAL CHAIN
(0.C.) WAIHI, Thursday The first mayoral chain for Waihi was handed to the Mayor, Mr. W. M, Wallnutt, by the town clerk, Mr. Westbury, at a ceremony last evening. The deputy-Mayor, Mr. S. M. Hovel!, said Mr. Wallnutt was in his 10th year of office and was one of the founders of the borough. Mr. Hovell also paid a tribute to the Mayoress. Fmblems on the chain are symbolic of the mining and dairying industries. ARBITRATION COURT After sitting in Hamilton on September 9 and 10 the Arbitration Court, presided over by Mr. Justice Tvndall, will open its Auckland sittings on September 12.
