BERWICK BY-ELECTION
(Herd. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 10 Lieutenant G. C. Grey, Liberal, has been returned unopposed in the byelection at Berwick-on-Tweed, caused by the elevation to the peerage of Sir Hugh Seely, Under-Secretary for Air. Sir Hugh Seely, who also is a Liberal, bad held the seat since 1935, when he polled 15,779 votes against the 15,145 polled by the Conservative Party candidate.
