MIDWIFERY SUPPLIES
REGULATIONS AMENDED An amendment to that part of the Social Security (Pharmaceutical Supplies) Regulations which concern the free issue of authorised midwifery pharmaceutical requirements has been gazetted. Formerly every midwifery order had to ho signed hv the licensee or manager of the hospital or by the obstetric nurse attending the case, and counter-signed by the medical officer of health in the. district. Under the amendment the counter-signature is no longer required. In addition it was formerly provided that, except in cases of emergency, every midwifery order had to he counter-signed by the medical officer of health before being fulfilled by the person contracting to supply the requirements. The amendment also revokes this provision.
