Engineer Rear-Admiral G. "W. Bodell has arrived at Auckland from Sydney.
The Hon. P. K. Paikea, representative of the Maori race on the Executive Council, left for Wellington last night.
Mr. F Scott Miller, repairs superintendent of the Union Steam Ship Company, Limited, has returned from Svdnev.
Mr. A. E. TTynes. Clerk of the Court at Rotorua, has been transferred to the office of the Supreme Court in Auckland pending his entry into camp.
Mr. L. L. Macey, formerly district telegraph engineer in Auckland, who retired in 1937, will leave for Wellington to-day to resume duty with the department as telegraph engineer at Nelson for the duration of the war.
Captain T. V. Hill, the former master of the Aorangi, has returned to Auckland after recuperating from an illness in Australia. Captain Hill, who is accompanied by Mrs. Hill, retired about four months ago and will reside in Vancouver.
Captain C. Freyherg. district Public Trustee at Palmerston North, and a brother of Major-General 15. C. Freyherg, V.C.. lias been appointed second-in-command of the ICth (Palmerston North) Company of the National Military Reserve. Captain Freyberg had a varied experience in the last war both in the infantry and the Air Force.
