Colliery Death Roll.—Of between 20 and :30 miners trapped by an explosion in Colliery, near Wakefield, England, 22 are "dead and throe injured. Hunger-strike Over. The Sydney hunger-strikers, Rati iff and Thomas, yielding to pressure by Labour organisations. have discontinued their Fast. They will probably soon be released. Italians in Britain.—Two thousand Italian prisoners oi war have arrived in Britain for work under the .Ministry of Agriculture. Thev will bo employed in ditching, draining, land reclamation and general agricultural work. Labour camps have been constructed in suitable rural areas. Free Austria.—The Archduke Robert of Austria attended the inaugural meeting _ of- the Young Austrian Youth Association in London, which will share in the fight against the Nazis and "work for the independence of Austria. . It/ is hoped to form a Free Austrian Army.
Palestine Policy.—Asked in the House of Commons whether tho Government still adhered to the policy of trie Balfour Declaration to establish a national home for .lews in Palestine, wvs the British official wireless, Mr! -nurchill replied: '"There has been no change in tho policy of the British ia regard to Palestine."
