ASSESSMENT COURT
The rating assessment of the City Council on a property of 71* acres facing Point England Road at Last Tamaki was discussed at a sitting of the City and Urban Lands Assessment Court vesterday, when the owner, Mrs. N. M. Brown (Mr. Duggan) objected to the charge. Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M.. presided, with Messrs. W. A. Bishop and F. A. Jarrett as assessors. Mr. Stanton appeared for the council. I lie Court upheld the submission of Mr. Stanton that Mrs. Brown was not the occupier within the meaning of the Act, and the application for a reduction was dismissed. Three other objections to assessments were withdrawn. It was stated that total reductions of £842 had been made in the area, which had a rating value of £13.656 for the 166 assessments involved.
