The main theme of several authoritative articles in Thk Wkkki.v News, on sale to-day, is the war between Germany and Russia. That exceptionally well-informed German, Dr. Hermann Rauschniiig. former friend and confidant of Hitler, gives his views in the first of a series of articles on the Nazi war plan. The weak .spot in Russia is referred to b.v Mr. L. K. Monro, in an article on the new German move. The "Fifth Column" in the Ukraine has been carefully nurtured by the Nazis in order to soften the Soviet. Other articles give an account of Russian military and air power, and estimate their chances against the German armies. A double page of pictures shows the Russian armies oil parade and on manoeuvres, revealing a highlj' mechanised modern force. A page ol pictures is devoted to the Prime Minister, the lit. Hon. P. Fraser, in Egypt, where lie met the soldiers and nurses I rem New Zealand. Other pictorial features are two pages of New Zealand Lxpeditionary Force casualties, troops on parade in' Wellington and Auckland. German parachute soldiers landing in Crete, and many other topical views.
