PRICES AT WESTFIELD

SMALL BACONER ENTRY EASIER VALUES FOR SHEEP There was an average yarding of beef at the West field fat stock market yesterday. The top pried "for steers was lower than last week, £ls os being secured, against £'l6 15s. Cows and heifers sold up to £l2, a drop of £1 2s (3d. A larger yarding of sheep came forward. and competition was good. However, the extreme rates which ruled last week were not reached. Wethers sold up to 325, a decrease of 2s 3d, while the top price for ewes was £l, a drop of Is Od. Lambs Sell Well .An average entry of lambs sold jrecly, the top price of 30s 9d being the same as last week. Values for calves were fully Jinn yesterday for an increased yarding. 'J'he herd of 50 cow& showed the effects of the recent adverse weather, but in spite of that competition was keen and well sustained throughout. Top price was £ls, other quality cotfs realising £lO 10s to £l3 10s, the sound in-calf cows in the herd averaging just on £lO.
