TRAIN DERAILED
DELAYS TO EXPRESSES
MAIN TRUNK ACCIDENT
Express trains running between Auckland and Wellington on Tuesday night were severnl hours late in reaching their destinations yesterday morning as a result of delays caused by a derailment of a goods train between Oio and Eaurimu. The goods train, running from Ohakunc to Taumarunui, was partly derailed in a cutting near Manson's Siding on Tuesday afternoon. The cause had not been ascertained yesterday. Seven trucks were derailed and a breakdown train sent from Taumarunui met with difficulty in removing them singly. The work was carried out in heavy rain and the line was not cleared until thiye o'clock yesterday morning. Damage to the trucks was not serious. While the line was being cleared the southbound expresses were held at Taumarunui and the northbound at Ohakrine. The afternoon express left Taumarunui for the south five hours behind schedule and the limited left" three hours late.-The afternoon express and the limited express from "Wellington reached Auckland about two hours late yesterday morning.
