ACCLIMATISATION WORK
A suggestion that the system, of appointment of honorary rangers should be revised was made by Mr. W. E. Nicholson, of Hamilton, at a meeting of the council of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society last; night. The suggestion arose following the discussion of several applicants for positions. Mr. I'\ I']. MeKenzie, who presided, proposed that the game committee should he asked to recommend a system of appointment, and the motion was ea rried. Three appointments were made. A report on electric fish barriers was given by Mr. D. F. Hobbs, biologist of the Marine Department fisheries laboratory, Wellington.
