SNOW IN DUNEDIN
FIRST FALL OF WINTER [BV TELEGRAPH PFt ESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN", Monday Dunodin had its first snowfall of the winter last night and to-day when the surrounding hills wore coated with snow as well as some of the hill suburbs. .Motorists had to exercise great care and at one stage the corporation buses were unable to operate until fitted with chains. Both north and south of Dunedin fairly heavy falls were experienced and some of the inland roads were impassable. Central Otago has escaped fairly lightly, the snowfall there being mainly confined to the hilltops. Snow fell heavily in the city for several hours to-night, but there are indications of an early improvement.
