CLIPPER ARRIVES
SIXTEEN PASSENGERS TRAVELLERS TO THE EAST Bringing 16 passengers, together with mails and freight, the Honolulu Clipper. commanded by Captain K. V. Beer, arrived at Auckland from San Francisco on Saturday afternoon after a normal passage with no delays. A majority of the passengers were business executives and technicians en route to the East Indies and Australia, some returning from trips to the United States. The latter included Mr. F. K. D. Thompson, managing director of the Firestone Tyre and Rubber Company. Singapore, who was accompanied by Mrs. Thompson; Mr. J. X. Vogt, of Javastaal, the Java steel syndicate, Batavia; Mr. W. R. Barrow and Mr. J. Jennings, of the Standard Vacuum Oil Company, Sumatra; Mr. F. M. Wiltshire and Mr. H. C. Dovev, of the Wiltshire File Company, Melbourne; and Mr. I'. Perry, nf Columbia Pictures. Sydney. Others were Mr. F.. R. Noderer, correspondent of the Chicago Tribune, en route to Egypt-; Mr. W. E. Lind, an aeroplane engine expert from Burhank. California, hound for Batavia; Mr. G. T. Hibhert, of Ansonia, Connecticut; and Mr. J. Rashkovsky, of Toronto. A service passenger was Mr. F. At hern, who has been appointed airport manager at Noumea for Pan American Airways. Mr. Athern. who joined the Clipper at Honolulu, is accompanied by his wife and two childi roil, aged seven and five. The family will return to Noumea by the Clipper to-day.
