KEEN COMPETITION
MARGINS OF ONE VOTE FIVE CHANGES AT PAPATOETOE Voting in some of the town board elections was very keen. At both .Mercer and Wniuku the last candidate on the list <if the new board was elected by a margin of only one vote. Two sitting members, H. Alp and B O. Wiberg, lost their seats on the Wen Eden Town Board to F. Allen and A. ,J. Rout ley. Five of the seven members of the Papatoetoe Board are new. POWER SUPPLY WAITEMATA BOARD THREE NEW MEMBERS Only one sitting member who sought re-election to the Waitemata ElectricPower Board was defeated. In the combined district of Takapuna, Birkenhead and Northcotc Mr. it. N. White replaced Mr. C. L. Clifton. Other new members were Mr. R. G. May, from Devonport, and I?. Glasgow, from the Waitemata County, but both filled vacant seats. Results were: Devonport (three seats). —R. G. May, 1.040; *B. E. Kennings, 1181; *E. Aldridge, 1101. Unsuccessful: A.
