MT. EDEN RED CROSS
The work accomplished by the Mount Fdon branch of the Red Cross Society during the past year was reviewed at the annual meeting held recently. Appreciation of the work of all members was expressed, and especially of the efforts of .Mrs. Derig in all the branches. Lately Mrs. Derig had started a new work, that of advising relatives how to communicate with the men who were prisoners of war. As it appeared that this branch would be increasing considerably, a permanent committee is to be set up. Tlip following officers were elected: Patron. Mr. R. J. Mills; president, Dr. J. Dreardon; vice-presidents, Mr. A. Richards, M.P., and Dr. A. Murray Heycocke; chairman, Mr. 'l'. McXnb: secretary, Mrs. ,T. Derig; organiser, Mrs. A. Cassie; treasurer, Mrs. M. Wink; auditor. Mr. H. Cribble; committee, Mr. A. l'layle, Mrs. Johnston, Mrs. Petersen, Miss Edna Shaw, Miss Joan Condon, Miss E. Carter Miss B. Ryan, Mr. I. Bridger. WAI HI AX Xl 7 Al l M F ETIXG A successful year's work with a membership of 150 was reported at the annual meeting of the Waihi sub-centre of the Xew Zealand Red Cross Society. The following officers were elected; —President, Mrs. E. A. Wilson; secretary, Mrs. M. Lyon; treasurer, Mrs. Cavana; comforts convener, Mrs. 11. Addy. The committee was reelected.
