SOCCER GAME
CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES FIXTURES FOR TO-MORROW The championship matches of the Auckland Football Association will be commenced to-morrow, when the main attraction at Blandford Park will be the meeting of the old rivals, Ponsonby and Thistle, at :i.15 o'clock. Both teams have promoted juniors ami give promise of moulding into solid combinations. The early game between Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys and Mctro-l ollege should lie a fast and exciting fixture. Metro-College won the second division last season in convincing manlier and Old Boys won the cliam-piou-of-champions match. Abels will travel to DeV'iuport, where the North .-illore side with its young players should hold its experienced opponents. Onehtiiigu will be at home to Comrades at Waikaraka Park. If Air Force forms a first division team from the two base teams and meets Fastern Suburbs at St. Heiiers, a fast game should result.
